The Uplynk Slicer is the tool you use to send media content to Uplynk. It validates the
media, segments it, and pushes the segments into the cloud for encoding. This patent-pending
process makes the process fast and straightforward.
The Slicer comes in various flavors (not all may be included in this package, depending on your platform)
- slicer - for file-based (VOD) content from the command line. Run './slicer' (slicer.exe on Windows)
without any parameters for help and details.
- liveslicer - for live streaming from the command line. The live signal can be acquired via
a BlackMagic DeckLink SDI interface or MPEG (over UDP). Run './liveslicer' without parameters
for help and details. See also the online documentation at https://cms.uplynk.com.
- slicebot - for automated file-based workflows from the command line. See online documenation for
full details.
- Slicer.app (Mac) - for file-based (VOD) content using a desktop application. Drag Slicer.app to
your Applications folder.
- CameraSlicer.app (Mac) - for live streaming from a webcam, a desktop application. Drag CameraSlicer.app to
your Applications folder.
- SlicerWPF.exe (Windows) - for file-based (VOD) content using a desktop application. SlicerWPF.exe
should remain in the same folder as the accompanying DLL files, but the folder may be moved to any
location.
NOTE: to unzip the uplynk slicer package on Mac you can double-click
it, or use unzip
on the command line; tar
will not unzip the
package correctly.
